Plaxtock has always been a not-for-profit festival. Every penny that everyone has contributed has been spent on the festival that year or reinvested in the following years. It’s in many ways a proof of concept of a different kind of society, one focused on enjoyment, sharing and realising your potential rather than being fixated on profit and growth.

From its birth in a paddling pool in 1994 we’ve focused entirely on making Plaxtock match our vision of the ideal festival. In the early 2000’s when Plaxtock was getting bigger and bigger, we took the commercially daft decision to dial it all back and reduce the size because it was no longer getting more enjoyable. Since then it feels like Plaxtock has remained a beacon of joy for many of us, a chance to get together and reaffirm our love of great company, beautiful nature, delicious food and quality tunes.

Contributing in advance will allow us to:

• Work out menus knowing the budget and how many to cater for
• Reduce waste by only buying what we need (Right on!)
• Cut down on administration (Yay!)
